In today’s world, technology has made many tasks easier, including traveling by train. One such helpful tool is the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM). Indian Railways introduced ATVMs to make it simpler for passengers to buy tickets.

What is an ATVM?

An ATVM is a machine that lets passengers buy train tickets on their own without waiting in long lines. These machines are found at railway stations across India and are easy to use for everyone, whether you’re a regular traveler or not.


Why Use ATVMs?

  1. Easy to Use: ATVMs have touchscreens and simple instructions in different languages.

How to Use an ATVM

  1. Start: Tap the screen to begin. 

  2. Choose Language: Pick a language you understand.

  3. Select Ticket: Choose the type of ticket you need.

  4. Enter Destination: Type where you want to go.

  5. Pay: Use cash or a smart card to pay. 

  6. Collect Ticket: Take your ticket from the machine or insert mobile number and ticket will be delivered to mobile through SMS which is valid to travel in train.

For passenger not know to operate ATVM.

Some passengers may find it hard to use ATVMs, especially if they’re not familiar with machines.  Indian Railways is now employed many ATVM operator to guides and issue ticket also.
